The Moomins are ready for a new adventure! But before they leave, Moominhouse is in chaos as the Moomins try to pack! This summer we're going on vacation with the Moomins, so don't forget to pack your travel essentials. Moominpappa, like all dads, is all packed up, ready to go and telling everyone else to hurry up! Snorkmaiden panics and tries to take all the essentials with her, while Moomintroll unsurprisingly tries to fit everything into a suitcase. Moominmamma, however, remains calm and collected as she packs her things. To make sure you don't forget that in all the chaos, the mug has a special reminder on the inside: 'The key is under the window-sill'. It tells how the doors to Moominhouse are always open.
The illustrations are inspired by the beloved comics Moomin on the Riviera (1955) and Moomin at Sea (1959). In the story, it is Moominpappa and Snorkmaiden who plan the trip - they want to travel south and "party all night". Some elements of the illustration are also taken from the Moomin and the Comet series (1958).
