The mug is inspired and illustrated directly from Tove Jansson's beloved and satirical comic strip Moominvalley Society from 1957. The story begins when secret societies suddenly become all the rage in Moominvalley. In a rebellious protest against all the boring necessities, Moominpappa decides to start his own club - the Opposition Party (Rebel Club). The basic rule is simple: total freedom, rule-breaking and the motto that no one should ever tell anyone else what to do! The ironic and deeply human part of the story is that the club quickly evolves into exactly what it was protesting against - a society filled with its own strict rules.
