This motif on Fillyjonk is based on the book Late in November (1970) and the series The Courtship of the Rat (1959).
History of the motif: Fillyjonk cleans the house neurotically and is at her best when she has to organize a big cleaning. The painting shows how she finds the hiding places of the dust rats and then lets the soap foam flow. The story of the painting begins with a psychiatrist coming to Moominvalley to cure Fillyjonk of her cleaning complex. When Phillip's house starts to fall into disrepair, Moominmamma decides to solve the situation in her own ingenious way. She writes a telegram, which the children of Fillyjonk enthusiastically deliver to their mother. The telegram states that a women's committee will be visiting Phillip's Canyon. In this way, Moominmamma succeeds in restoring Fillyjonk's status.
