Moomintroll and the Martian
The motif on this Moomin mug is from Tove Jansson's Moomintroll and the Martiansseries from 1957, which was later also published in part four of the Moomin comic book series.
This lovely mug shows a very small Martian who has lost his way. The radio warns of a flying saucer approaching land. The saucer lands unexpectedly in the Moomin family's garden. Moomintroll decides to hide the lost Martian, who is also wanted by the police. The Martian and Moomintroll speak a common language with the help of the Magic Box.
