Inspired by Tove and Lars Jansson's cartoons
Moomin Arabia's team designed the collection around the Moomin and the Scouts cartoon, created by Tove Jansson's brother Lars Jansson in 1961.
As the story goes, Moomintroll has his eyes on a girl named Tuttlan. At first she seems more interested in her scouting duties, but after Moomintroll saves her life, her heart's interest shifts. Driven by jealousy, Snorkmaiden reveals Moomintroll's odd habits to Tuttlan. Whether it worked or not, it turns out that Moomintroll has competitors. Tuttlan leaves him and takes up folk dancing to find a new crush. Moomintroll realizes he has made a mistake and apologetically goes back to Snorkmaiden. Until their next adventure, they dance away in the sunny meadow. Some elements of the illustration are also adapted from Tove Jansson's earlier comics Moomins and the Sea (1957) and We Start a New Life (1956).
