About the manufacturing process:
Glassblowing
At INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR, all ornaments are hand-blown using traditional craftsmanship. Ornaments such as balls, finials, and many others are freely shaped over the flame by experienced glassblowers. For all figures, the evenly heated glass is blown into special molds with great care and finesse.
Silver Plating
The distinctive brilliance of the glass decorations from INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR is created by applying a genuine silver coating by hand. Each ornament is filled with a pure silver solution, which then coats the inside of the glass.
Painting
Up to 60 steps are required to give an ornament its final appearance. Small details such as eyes, pupils, and eyebrows are painted with care and a very steady hand by a skilled INGE-GLAS® painter. Each individual ornament is painted by the same painter from the first to the last step of the painting process. This gives each ornament its own unique, personal character.
Quality Control
Every ornament from INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR undergoes a final quality control inspection. Only after this quality control is approved will the respective ornament be marked with the registered trademark—Star Crown®. This guarantees the hand-blown and hand-painted craftsmanship from Germany.
